Kitty Talk
These journals are dedicated to Kitty GreyCat's spirit. She is at RainBow Bridge now along with her human friend, Leo. We all loved you, Kitty! Click the cat graphic to visit her Memorial page. Kitty born June 6, 1982. Died July 9, 1997. Please fill out our email form below to tell us how we are doing or make suggestions. >^..^<

Orange TomCat that Kitty liked!Ebony: We are the cats and bosses around here. When I decide to be loving and affectionate, then I do it. When I want to growl and hiss, I do that too. I do what I want. >^..^<
Abby: I think you done shed too many brain cells, Eb. I have real things to meow about. I have complaints to make too. That bad bean clean the crusty sleepies right out of my eyes without my express permission. I know he means well, but please leave me alone. >^..^<
Ebony: Meow, I know how to get back at our human bean, Ab. You just wait until he get really into reading his newspapers. Then you go and sit and lay on the very same newspapers. Bean not like that.>^..^<
Abby: I ruffled his newspapers all the time. I think he just doesn't like you, Eb. Black cats are just awful. >^..^<
Ebony: Well, I never! You white cats shed all over. Us black cats never do something like that. We only shed a little, and what we shed is good. The white fur show up on everything and is just plain icky. >^..^<
Abby: Meow, Ebony, you must be full of catnip what bean give us in our hiding box. You are just making things up, because you have been catnipped. I only like catnip so I can sit by the window and watch the world go by. Life is full of catnip fun. And the catnip stay in the catnip box to be snorted and enjoyed fully. Yum, catnip. >^..^<
Ebony: O, Abby, you meow too much about catnip. It is fine, but a pizza smells good too. I wouldn't want to eat a pizza, but it do smell so very good. Cottage cheese smells good too, and I like to eat that stuff. >^..^<
Abby:
Ice like cheese better. Then the human bean play with me with that metal pointer that I paw slap at. I got too excited though, and banged a fang on that metal thing. That hurt a little and the fun wasn't fun no more.>^..^<
Ebony: Use weird kitty cat. At least I keep human bean warm when I sleep with him. All you do is sleep at his feet. You can't stay still long enough for a proper catnap either. I am the best cat, because I am smarter. >^..^<
Abby: Yes, you are so smart that you are dumb like a dog. I love on human bean. All you are good for is growls and hisses. I know what I meow about because I am the best cat on the earth and the moon too. >^..^<
Ebony: I remember those moon mousies. But you are just trying to fool with me. You cause so many catfights. You always chasing me around making me hiss myself horse. I meow that you are so mean for a tiny cat. >^..^<
Abby: I might be tiny, but you a big moroon. Well, I got the last meow. We got new peoples and all kinds of stuff moved around in the trailer. I don't mind. Well, that is all we got for this month. Not much to meow about. >^..^<

Internet Stuff
The DVD films from http://www.NetFlix.com are packed with extras and full of good entertainment. Treasure Planet was an excellent animated, futuristic film about a classic story. Head of State was a funny movie with Chris Rock and Bernie Mac. Dreamcatcher was an outstanding adaptation of a Stephen King novel, displaying horror and science fiction characteristics. The best movie of the month was called Pay It Forward, a true story that had a very sad ending but with an upbeat message to help one another. Bullet Proof Monk was an average action movie. The Matrix: Reloaded is a super movie, but it leaves a lot to be desired at the end. Nemesis was a poor science fiction movie not worth seeing. The acting was stiff and uninspiring. The special effects were average.

Several websites were useful this month. Checkout http://RunesofAo.com/LarryShaffer. I had a lot of fun at the website at http://www.directv.com getting DirecTV installed. There was an interesting website called http://www.hotels.com where you can find and reserve a room at a good hotel.

Miscellany: I got some exercise but not enough walking to get my mail at my brand new post office box. I was especially enthralled by a tiny blue bird, most likely a warbler, flitting around the mangroves. I got to take some friends out on the boat and enjoyed Delta Shoals, Molasses Keys, East Bahaia Honda, and John Sawyer Bank. Karen, Keith, and I made the BBC World News aired on local affiliate WLRN. The news piece aired several other times too. Did you know that Arizona's state bird is the Cactus Wren? The flower is the saguaro blossom. The tree is the Palo Verde. The capital is Phoenix. Statehood was granted February 14, 1912. Lastly, the Helio Gallery Store features decorative home furnishings and art to wear. This Key West store is open Monday through Saturday from 10:00 AM to 6:00 PM. They are located at 814 Fleming Street. Their telephone number is 305-294-7901 and fax 872-9270. Their website address is http://www.heliographics.com. That's it this month!

My Hands Full Of The Sky” 10.17.72

I've been waiting
A long time
Watching silently
Behind closed curtains

Days slipped by
The nights escaped beyond
Waiting for the sky
To open its heart and cry

One day, the time ripe
Night slips in unawares
The moon arises majestic
Suddenly the clouds hide the moon

I've been waiting
A long time
Finally, here it is
My hands full
Of the sky...

Hockey Puck
The NHL season started with the Florida Panthers doing well on the road but not quite so good at home. In NASCAR, Jeff Gordon, Bill Elliot, and Dale Earnhardt Jr. are all in the top ten in the Winston Cup points standings. The Florida Marlines upset the New York Yankees in six games in the World Series. The NBA started its preseason. The NFL Dolphins are doing well, while the Buccaneers struggle. In the PGA, Tiger Woods and Vijay Singh battle it out on the money list. The WTA and even college football are boring at present.

What the Students Should do for the Community

We live in a town with approximately 10,000 people. Our town is small and there is a limited amount of space to build things that would be efficient for the residents of the Florida Keys. In a way, our town is like having a huge family, everyone interacts with each other, and helps one another when one needs help. The city as a whole has given to the community in many ways. From a new park with two playing fields that can be used both for soccer, softball/baseball or any big recreation to redoing the beach to make it a beautiful place to go and it made the surrounding community look even better. By redoing the beach made it a place to attract people, including tourists and it boosted up our economy as well. In many different ways the city has done many things for the students. I think it might be time for the students here in Marathon to give back to the city.

There are many ways for the students to give back to the city. We can start with simply helping out. There are plenty of things to be done here in Marathon. Students can simply be more active when it comes to volunteer services. Yes, every once in a while we have a park cleaning, but honestly how often would you like to clean a park? We should have volunteer work that is actually fun. Have it bring some excitement to the community.

I, myself have participated in quite a few highway, coastal and park clean-ups. It does feel good to know that by you being there for just a couple of hours you have made our surrounding community looks a whole lot better. I know I feel a sense of self satisfaction when I take a look at the before and after picture of how much a different there is on our highways, beaches etc. The volunteer work that I think I am talking about is getting the students to want to get involved. Because every one can just go out there just for the community hours. But to make the students want to be there, wanting to get involved. I think that is by far a better achievement.

Some volunteer work that I think would be a good thing to do would be having students getting involved in the little league at the new park or at our Marathon High Schools softball field. Another good volunteer service would be letting our students be active in the city council election. Either by campaigning or working the polls when it comes to the election.

By letting the students be active in the city council election, lets them feel important, like actually for once they are important enough to be active in something that important, something that benefits to the whole community. It’s like a start in the right direction. To be able to be active in the election of the city council not only brings them
community service hours but it lets them get involved with the government section of our city and you never know where that will lead some students. Not only will the community benefit from it, but as well as the students.

Those are some of the ideas that I think will get the students to give back to the city. To get them involved, to be active in what is happening in our surrounding community I think the students would also benefit from.

PERFECTION TAKES TIME

There are words, then thee are words,
yet to find the right words to express the deepest part of my heart
at this present moment I don't know where to start.
Deeply I know what I write must resemble the perfection of art.
To reflect the images of art it would simply take hours and hours of time.
Right now I find there is a fleeting passage to my rhyme.
As any artist knows you can never tempt perfection.
For the association of the arts is a masterful selection.

So Excited

I finally finished my book, "Winning Points With The Women In Your Life, One Touchdown At A Time". That was a total blessing from God. It totally morphed from the original version I had written. August came and I totally revamped it and actually learned more about Football than I ever thought I would. While I have watched Super Bowls and an occasional Monday night football game with family and friends, I am more of an active participator in sports than a watcher...snicker, so I didn't know the rules of engagements. I totally changed all of the chapter headings in August (the beginning) as well as changing the flavor and using a lot more analogies with the knowledge I had learned.

I tested the book on over a hundred men and women of all ages and backgrounds...some who loved football, others who didn't care for it at all. It was 98%. Meaning, 98% loved the book, 2% didn't care for it or thought some of the romantic ideas were crazy. Statistics show that it only takes 27 people to set a trend...I just found that out from a statistic major. I thought that was interesting. So the book is protected by copyright laws now. I applied for and received the ISBN number and bar code and now it's at the formatter. He is doing such an awesome job! He put little football men at the top of the pages and put all my facts into goal posts. The book looks awesome so far. He also liked my cover concept and took it a step further. So tomorrow I will be photographed for the cover. Then he will make me the color of the grass of the football field I photographed and put me on the ground. It will look as if the grass cutter went crazy and cut out a shape of a woman on the field. I originally thought having a silhouette of a woman against the backdrop of a football field was cool, but he came up with a step above that and I love it.

The week of the 27th, it goes into the printers and it should be back by the first week of November. Then it will hit the bookshelves in Santa Cruz and San Jose to begin with. Barnes and Nobles is talking to me about the book, but I am not sure I am big enough for them to carry nationwide. Below I will put the review the Santa Cruz Sentinel is printing. It's really cool! The Good Times will also be reviewing it and several radio station talk show hosts have expressed an interest in having me on their show to talk about the book after they have read it. We shall see how that goes! It's amazing!

It's an exciting time. Whatever happens to the book is in God's hands. Whether it succeeds or fails, I have done as He asked and it's finished! Thank you God!

Here is the review that will be in the Santa Cruz Sentinel at the end of the month. They are timing it with the release of the book, which I think is really sweet!

"Winning Points with the Woman in Your Life, One Touchdown at a Time, the latest book by Jaci Rae, is a new and fresh approach to a subject that has baffled the minds of men and women across the globe since time began. This well written and rounded book is easy to read and fun to look at.

When I picked up the book to read it initially, the title captured my attention and once I opened the book, the graphics captured my imagination literally catapulting me into the first page where I was unable to put it down until I had read it in its entirety!

While I have read many relationship books that self-help gurus have written over the years, there was something about this particular book that actually caused my brain cells to wake up and take notice. I began to see things and view nagging questions in a different way. Jaci (pronounced JaySee) has put things into a new format, shedding light on some hard to answer questions.

Additionally, she has strewn throughout the book, Fun Football Facts that will give even someone who does not like football, a smile on their face, as well as additional knowledge of events in the NFL that are not commonly known.

All in all, this is a book that I would recommend to men and women alike. Jaci's use of football scenarios mixed in with relational issues, as well as her use of scientific fact that define the actual chemistry of love, commit to your memory and soul what many of us have asked about and dealt with in our relationships. This book is a must have and will hit the shelves at the end of October. Be sure to check your local book store to purchase your copy before they are gone, because you won't want to miss this one, and I know it will be flying off the shelf!"

Well that's all folks. Thanks! Jaci Rae http://www.jacirae.com
