Join Ring Requirements:

Circle of Friends (CoF) WebRing is an odd (you don't have to be odd, but it helps) assortment of like-minded webmasters (or owners of home pages). As a member you will be able to travel the web ring in any direction to visit other members and have fun. In case WebRing server is down Circle of Friends was the first to use a secondary navigational tool to STILL navigate the ring! And by the way, since there are some members who are under 18, we do have to be somewhat exclusive. You know what I mean.

Ring code must be placed on the page registered with the ring. The ring bot tester checks for proper ring code placement weekly moving any site with improper ring code placement to the queue. If the problem is fixed within seven days, the ring bot tester moves the site back into the ring. If the problem persists beyond seven days, the ring bot tester removes the site permanently from the ring. There must be ring code on at least two pages, one can be a lite version - see that version at the very bottom of the [Join] page! Bad email, incorrect ring code, rules violations, and low quality will be cause for removal without notice if the member will not make changes. Sound must have the option of being turned on or off. There must be an OBVIOUS link to the ring code from any major pages.

You must pass the ring test which checks for valid ring code placement. You must upload a copy of the ring image (dragon) to your web site if using the old style ring code vice the new WebRing Navbar. You must modify the image statement to point to your web site. You must have the ring code appear as it does below. You may make the dragon smaller but no smaller than a first class US stamp. Text color or font may be modified too, but that is the extent of allowed variations. You may use the lite version at the bottom of the [Join] if you know how to change the title, email addy, and site ID numbers to YOUR info. Or you may submit a ring code style you like and use it if APPROVED. All the links and the dragon must be part of the ring code style.

To qualify you must match ONE of the following criteria (watch out! big word!):

like hockey; SF, SciFi, Fantasy, or be a Science Fiction fan or artist; have a guest book of any kind; like chess; like cats; be an author or poet (published or not); really like dragons; like NASCAR; be a Roman Catholic (other non-Satanist religions welcome as well); have military experience; and more to be added later...

If you do not meet the criteria above, submit anyway. If the cats like your home page, you are in! Oh, dog lovers welcome provided they keep their pooches away from the cats. Suggestions and constructive criticisms welcome any time. And we really like being praised too.

Spamming Caution:

Please do not use the Circle of Friends WebRing email list. Doing so is spamming. If this should happen, we would be forced to take action. That would include but not be limited to removing your home page from the ring, notifying your email server and Internet Service Provider (ISP), and/or publishing your email addy to the Circle of Friends membership so that they might block your email address out from their email program.
